While us Londoners can clearly see and feel like we are in the middle of winter, it hasn't stopped me from swooning over some lovely lifestyle shots of an outdoor furniture brand that I came across at the fair in Paris....

This brand to me is a 'safe bet'. The shots look good, simple, good hues, I like....

Makes me want to go and sit by a pool.....

In Acapulco maybe?

Or Miami?

Santa Monica? Or somewhere a bit closer to home maybe?

This is Tim Raue in Berlin. A city not only known for it's Soho House, but a city full of exciting and extremely well designed dining and drinking establishments. This is a new favourite....

Vitra Organic chairs, upholstered in the standard Kvadrat fabrics, with a great light installation on the ceiling...

Did they fear the pink was too much so gave up on the wall? I doubt it, this to me is a very carefully considered 'feature', cool though, no?

Day 4 - Meetings, Macaroons, & Maison

The magic doors to the gallery of my favourite designer, so uber, she doesn't even need to put her name above the door.

We're on day four now, and really nearly ready to go home. I'm was rested but utterly overtired. Had an amazing nights sleep at Hotel Thoumieux, and a great little breakfast in the brasserie below, which was heaving the night before, it turns out it's a go-to destination, and this was the 1st night of the Haute Couture shows in Paris. A short walk to our first appointment of the day and we walk past the location of the Chanel show that was on yesterday morning (sigh). Amazing meeting, and we hopped in a cab back to le Parc de Expositions, Villipente for a final 5 hours to get the last 3 halls of the show done.

Nada Debbs, a furniture company based in Lebanon is a brand I've been coming across without knowing who they were. I've seen these chairs in a hotel before (if only I could remember where...)

We've all seen these Challieres lights around and about. SCP, Conran, Art Dandy in Paris, and some have made their own versions (ahem), but they should also get some credit for the other pieces from their collection...

This stand is a perfect example of a company that will create designs to a designers specification and fill a hotel or restaurant with 80 chairs that nobody knows where to buy. I know a little company that plans to change all that...

So we leave the fair (with an empty box of macaroons that were supposed to be for the eurostar) and head back to Gare du Nord. We hop on an earlier train back to London (with the extra excitement of being sat next to Phillip Treacy) and home safe and sound, all in all, a super successful trip.

Now I need to start planning the Milan fair....

Day 3 - Paris, Maison et Objet & Hotel Thoumieux

This lantern has a secret battery operated light bulb which stays lit for 11 hours.

It really is quite amazing. You don't think anything of it, until you realise there is no cable and there's no candle in it...

I'm typing this as I'm sat in my suite in Hotel Thoumieux, with a laptop on one side of me in bed and a room service tray of earl grey and a jam jar of creme caramel. It's been another very long day of meeting suppliers, sourcing new products and taking in as much as you visually can when you're at a trade fair that feels like the size of 8 football pitches.

Here are a selection of some of my favourite things that I came across today, with some images of where I am staying tonight at the end of this post.

These plates and glasses by Hering Berlin, are some of my favourite plates that I was shown a few weeks ago by the UK company rep back in London, I particularly like the bunny cup. This company happens to supply many of the top restaurants in London.

Beautiful yes, but these Seiger glass beakers retail at about 120€ each....

A very well known maker, Magis, always remind me that they're an invaluable source when looking for simple kitchen chairs, stacking chairs, or just outdoor/wipe clean seating....

An amazing company set up I think 7 years ago by its founder Beatrice De Lafontaine, When Objects Work are a tabletop agency that represent some of the most well known architects and designers who choose to design a collection of tableware, for example John Pawson or Kate Hume.

A sneak peek at Tom Dixon's new tableware collection (a first for Dixon) here are his new candles, each with it's own little marble lid, sweet, but tres £££££.....

You may recognise these from JK Place in Capri or Florence, two hotels that I have posted about a few times...

These lights are used in all the suites at Le Royal Monceau Hotel where I stayed on Saturday night...

Hotel Thoumieux

The staircase up to the reception of the hotel. Thoumieux, designed by India Mahdavi is found at 79 Rue Saint Dominique, and it's unlike anywhere I've stayed before. For starters you walk outside look up the street and voila, the Eiffel Tower is just a few hundred metres infront if you! The hotel is full of colour, print next to print, highly textured walls, thick embroidered curtains, matt brass light fixtures, kooky wall lights that look like twisted trumpets, I LOVE IT!

The marble bathroom extends into the bedroom. The room has a great iPad pre-loaded with a some French soundtracks, perfect for while I was getting ready for dinner earlier this evening.

I found a great little box of handmade biscuits left for me on my arrival (they lasted about 5 minutes!)...

Kooky lights in the corner of my room, India Mahdavi is known for her wonky lampshades, I have to admit I did try and correct it, force of habit I suppose!

Love the Farrow and Ball wallpaper, we have this in our office, and I'm still not tired of it...

Louis Poulsen bedside lights, you may have spotted these in the Danish version of the TV show, The Killing?

Not many people know where these lights are from, and I'm not ruining the secret, but know a team who can get them for you, so if you are interested email here...

So this is where I'll be having breakfast tomorrow, but for now, I'm going to get back to my creme caramel. My last day in Paris tomorrow.

Day 2 - Paris, Deco Off

I forgot to show you the lobster in my bathroom in my last post! Hi Lobster!

Bye bye hotel, and on I went to see 'Deco Off' which is an event being held in two separate locations in Paris. There seems to be two areas that have all the main fabric houses and galleries, with a shuttle bus running beneath the two areas.

Lunch was an unexpected gem, on Rue de Buci you'll find a cafe/restaurant designed by my favourite designer, India Mahdavi called Germain. I sat in peace for a good two hours. Was bliss. A bloody mary, chicken salad and a hot chocolate, I needed nothing more!

Day 1.5 - Paris, Dinner, Dancing & Tinie Tempah

Drinks at the bar with two of my friends who live in Paris, and then on to Le Basilic on Rue Casimer Perier for an amazing dinner. It a 'locals' place, very relaxed, and a place where friends meet for dinner before heading to either Raspoutine or a similar club.

We took a taxi to Carmen, an amazing club on Rue Duperre. A decadent old building, slightly crumbling, it reminded me of a cross between the old section on Home House in London and a more edgy East London pop up club. Here are some snaps....

Then on to Raspoutine, I didn't know what to expect but understand it's THE place in Paris right now. So uber, but my girls know know their doormen! Ah to be with a local in Paris, so helpful!

Awesome club, no main dancefloor, just dance by your table, and who was next to us, Tinie Tempah, obviously I had to say hi, we get chatting, LWSY the interior designer gets introduced to his team and it's decided I'm going to be called when he's back in London as he needs a designer for his new place. We all know that's never going to happen, but hey, I got to hang out with Tinie Tempah and I love that!

It's about 3am by now and LWSY is thinking it's time to go and enjoy my huge bed, but no, on to another club, just off Av. des Champs Ellysees called Madam. 10 minutes in, and I'm out, off to bed (after 'reviewing' my gigantic bath - 5* FYI).

I've just woken up in 5* bliss and am waiting for my friend Rachel to come and join me for breakfast. Then off to investigate Deco Off this lunchtime and afternoon.

Day 1 - Paris, The Fair & Le Royal Monceau

I have ALWAYS wanted a giant Eiffel Tower....

Day ONE of FOUR in Paris....

I'm already shattered nearly 6pm in Paris, I was up at 5.30am to catch the Eurostar. By the time I found myself un petit cafe and got myself to the Parc de expositions it was about 11am and I was raring to go. Having been to Maison for a few years now I'm clued up on which halls to avoid. That doesn't stop you from getting hideously lost trying to get from one hall to another. For example I got lost in Christmas world for a good hour. Why can't they put hall 5 next to 7 and 8 and just miss out hall 6 altogether! Anybody with me on that?!!

I bumped into to a few people already, and on the first day, I thought that was pretty good going. I managed to say a quick hello to Oona at Pinch, we used to have studios next to each other, and I also just bumped into some other friends who work for some of the companies I like to use back in London. Just as I was getting into the swing of it my camera battery died, typical (my tip is don't talk to anyone on the stands, there isn't time!! Just take pictures of what grabs you, and be sure to take a snap of the stand name).

Munna is a Portuguese company that I first came across at Decorex in London. I broke my rule and introduced myself to these guys. Amazingly friendly and they were pleased to hear how I have some of their postcards pipped above my desk, so I really am always thinking of their furniture!!

They have their pieces in a few hotels around the world, which is a perfect piece of info that they shared with me that I can use for my work with Discover&Deliver.

Great lights and furniture by &tradition

I see these chairs by Hay all the time, they are really similar in design to the Hans Wegner Elbow Chair.

This stand was next to my friends stand, La Fibule, I great little company with some really fun pieces. I'd love that sheepskin chair in a bathroom...

....and just as I managed to get out of the Christmas World (!!) I found good old Jonathan Adler, yes, yes, very well known but my happy place. I remember chatting to the girls there last year begging them for a London store. I guess they listened. If you Londoners haven't been to his store on Sloane Avenue, go! It's just amazing....

I think I lasted about 4 hours there today (seriously you have to do it in stages!) and then off I went to find where I am sitting now, Le Royal Monceau on Avenue Hoche. I literally have not stopped grinning since the moment I was walked inside.

Here are just a few snaps from my blackberry that I took about an hour ago (and yes I've already managed to squeeze in a swim!).

10 points to you if you recognise this light! You can write little messages on your lampshades. The idea was that Philippe Stark's daughter drew on a lampshade that was replicated, but actually, you can see that guests have added their own notes!

Tomorrow I shall report back post Saturday night in Paris. I'm going to do 'Deco Off' tomorrow, which is just an open house in all the Parisian fabric houses.

A teeny sneak peek at Belgraves, the 1st Thompson Hotel in the UK. Move over Morgan Group (Sanderson, St Martins Lane etc) there is a new cool kid in town. I'm particularly excited about the official opening this Spring because not only am I already working with their new 'House' restaurant and Bar, Hix (Mark Hix, Marks Bar), but I am also doing some work with their hotels Smyth, and LES back in NYC.

It's that time of year again, where all us Interiors people flee to Paris for the 2nd biggest fair of the year, Maison et Objet...

I am equally excited as this is where we shall be staying, Hotel Thoumieux, designed by Parisian furniture super woman India Mahdavi.

I love the Farrow & Ball wallpaper, and you can see that each room is full of Mahdavi's furniture.

All the rooms have an Apple TV and iPads, and the wall lights are amazing aren't they! I spotted them in the uber trendy gallery/shop Mint in London, very cool...

We went to Merci where I met a lovely little red Fiat500...(I love 500s, you'll see why in a minute)

We went to the Eiffel Tower, how could you not. In fact we decided to walk along the Seine from our hotel thinking it wouldn't be far. An hour later we get there, turn around and like magic, the sparkly night time lights came on, twas MAGICAL!!!

January, also special as I took delivery of the very handsome Giacomo, my very own hard earned/well deserved Fiat500...GRRRRR (if only I kept him this shiny)

FEBRUARY

I went skiing, it was freezing, we had an amazing time, I still dream of 'that' fondue...

This is our studio...yes the Christmas lights were still up in February...

There is one very special house in Portofino that you can see perched at the top of the cliff, this belongs to one of my friends, Elisabetta, and this is where we stayed, it was a little piece of heaven.

NOVEMBER

November, the month I fell in love with Pollen Street Social, and to see that the chef Jason Atherton as a similar Neri&Hu designed restaurant in the Waterhouse Hotel, Shanghai, which we subsequently signed up for Discover&Deliver.

We had great fun working on some new shots for the Discover Deliver website in an amazing location on Princelet Street just off Brick Lane, London. The house is used for all kinds of shoots from Rihianna videos (the next day) to filming Sherlock, and a couple of Tim Burton films.

DECEMBER

My second trip to Massimo's at The Corinthia Hotel for our work Christmas dinner, it's my favourite London hotel...

Here I am singing myself happy birthday... (I know)

Christmas was lovely, at home with my family and then we all hopped in the car and headed down to my parents house in St Ives, Cornwall before I made it back up to London for NYE 2011.

I had the MOST AMAZING New Years Eve at Suka, a restaurant in the covered courtyard at The Sanderson Hotel. My friend Henry was invited to host the New Year party. A giant Mad Hatters Tea Party. Alice (Alice in Wonderland) read my palm and told be 2012 is going to be my year, I believe her.....

One of our family traditions every year, after Christmas but before New Year, we pop over to Mousehole from our holiday home in St Ives to enjoy the Christmas village lights.

The Christmas lights were started in 1963 by Mousehole-based artist, Joan Gillchrest. The sea serpent (in the background) is the most famous of all the displays, originally being made in 1973. The whale was added in 1989. The largest piece this year, is the 'Merry Christmas / Happy New Year' which is 50m long x 6m high and contains nearly 1000 bulbs. They estimate over 7000 bulbs are used in the displays plus ropelighting and Low Voltage light systems using about 5 miles of rope. It has been estimated by the locals, that about 30,000 visitors make the trip every year to Mousehole.

Hella Jongerius XL Polder Sofa available at Vitra.

A Recently Completed Project

One of my favourite projects that I have worked on, here are some shots of a four bedroom property I recently designed. Above, a Stuart Scott Tenno table, De le Cuona cable knit throw, the chair was found via Fiona McDonald at the Decorative Antiques fair last summer. The wallpaper is St Germain by Farrow & Ball (excuse the lines on the carpet, don't think I haven't noticed!).

A little corner shot of the living room. I had these sofas made to my own design in Devon. The Sisal was found via Mark Roger, and the throw over the back of the sofa was made by my wonderful curtains and soft furnishings lady Valeria, and the 'Smartie Light' is Besselink & Jones. I found the blind material from Colefax & Fowler. Can you spot the little Meerkat on the table?!

The Jolly Roger - De le Cuona

Silk velvet cushions, a Tank cashmere throw sits underneath another De le Cuona throw, and the little Versaille cushion was hand embroidered. The Matteo bedlinen came from LA, and I found the Nicholas Haslam bedside mirror tables on Ebury Street. The marble base Nickel table lights were found at Carlton Davidson. We had our own shades made using a Larsen silk,

The Knassos cushion material is a favourite of mine, and is David Hicks for Groudworks, GP&J Baker.

We had our own door handles, escutcheons and door pulls made to our own design.

Master Bedroom Curtains

Geoff Collier made us our very own Nickel finial, a very simple design but one we couldn't find off the peg at the usual places. So here is our own 'Bradbourne' finial.

One of my favourite rooms. I found this amazing Canary 'Carriage Cloth' fabric I used for the bedspread at Claremont just off Chelsea Green, which started the story in this very yellow guest bedroom. The bed was re-lacquered black, the yellow silk velvet cushions are again De le Cuona, and the bolster cushion upholstery is also Claremont. We found these amazing lights at Made.com (shock horror!) and the cute tables are simply Conran.

Ashley Hicks 'Sabre' Table, the top sits on it's legs like a jewel secured in it's setting, I love it....

The 'Vera Cruz' by India Mahdavi (as seen in Condesa DF, Mexico), I think this is more of a breakfast or library table though..

'Ypsilon' a solid bronze coffee table by Interni Edition

The 'Origami' table by Donghia/Rubelli. A set of three would look great...

Finally, an all time favourite, except one day when I order my own, I'd like to have six dots.

Pollen Street Social

I finally made it to Pollen Street Social last week, as a guest of the Remains lighting team. Days on I cannot stop thinking about it. The food, the pudding bar, the interior (by Neri + Hu), the private dining room downstairs, the amazing little handbag tables the girls get given to keep your bag close to you. It was all very clever, and I want to go back soon please.

So when you arrive into the restaurant, all the girls are given a little key fob, and you are asked to return it when you collect your coat, to receive a little gift. Breakfast the next morning, how sweet!

Look what arrived on my desk yesterday. My very own Sophie Hulme Bag. Each piece from Sophie's collections come with it's own seasonal charm to collect (I have a few). You may know this girl already but I'm very proud to say that Sophie has been both my school and university friend and I love her so. The most talented, hard working designer, and I shall forever love and admire her. Sophie has always been my 'go to' girl whenever I'm going through a tough time at work, this girl knows how to put life into perspective.

Every season I collect another few pieces from her collections, so if you see someone walking around London with an armour plated black coat, bag and belt, it's me!! My Macbook is very happy to have such a fierce looking new home!

JK Capri, (AKA heaven on a cliff.....)

The nights are closing in early here in London, and as much as I love London in the winter, I can't help dreaming about JK Place in Capri. Designed by Michele Bonan, it is dreamboat beautiful. Imagine renting the whole place for a party, heaven.

It reminds me of my trip to Portofino this summer. Just gorgeous...

I actually had this image above stuck to my pinboard for a good 2 years before realising that it was this hotel in Capri. I loved the chairs and the ceiling light, it was especially designed by Bonan for Estro.

Bonan has some key signatures that I've noticed across his hotels, 1 Place Vendome, The Heidelberg Suites and JK Place in Florence, he seems to use the dogtooth upholstery on the stools above, and his own Wingback chairs, the same floor lights and deep colours. I love his style, I think he really has something.

The Modernista Suites, El Palauet, Barcelona

Has anyone ever told you about El Palauet? Six spacious modern suites all kitted out with certain design classics that you may recognise. Some Eames, Saarinen, Jacobsen, Van der Rohe and Stark. The terraces allow incredible views to Passeig de Gracia, the Monastery of Pompeya and to the top of Tibidabo Mountain.

Each suite has its own bathroom with chromotherapy system and wardrobe, a dining room, a desk work area, a living room with 2 different areas and a balcony.

I want to say that I think I first heard of this place via my brother, it was him or Wallpaper* magazine, either way, he probably only knew because he'd read it before me in my Wallpaper* mag that he'd got to before me. Certainly not a new venture, but while thinking of places to go for a walk and then find somewhere to snuggle up with my macbook, I thought of this place, and just wanted to share it with you because I've been doing quite a bit of Tom Dixon research recently, and he's the clever man who designed this place.

Just get me a blanket and I could sit here all day....

Three Courses At The Corinthia Hotel

I finally got to explore the Corinthia Hotel last night. So along with my friends from Remains & Nanz we started off at the Bassoon Bar, and the most amazing cocktails that looked so pretty we almost couldn't drink them. We wanted to explore the hotel so what better way than enjoying a different course in each of the restaurants. Cocktails in the Bassoon bar, and then on to Massimos, through the hotel lobby. Massimos has been carefully sectioned into two areas, up by the bar you can sit in booths with brass framed marble tables, and enjoy the 'Oyster Bar' idea, or sit further into the restaurant, where it's more 'white table cloth' kind of style. We requested the larger menu but chose to sit in a booth, a little closer to the hustle and bustle of the bar.

This was our booth above, and I had the most amazing Sea Bass in lemon sauce with crispy red Prawns and green beans. YUMS. We then headed over to the Northall Bar area for puddings and some bubbles.

Maybe the best Pavlova I've tasted, sitting at the bar is surely the best way to watch a crowd. I'll definitely be going back, but next time, I think for Sunday Lunch.

Last Weeks Finds That....Lucy Will Show You....

Decorex is such an overload for anyone in the Interiors business. New pieces, new designers, new ideas, new 'wants'.... I wanted to share with you a few pieces that really caught my eye. There were a few designers that I was really looking forward to seeing this year, and Amy Somerville of Somerville Scott unveiled a masterpiece in collaboration with Bill Amberg. Just look at this for a Games Table. What a gem.

Somerville Scott & Co were also lauching their own fabric collection. Why am I not surprised that I immediately went straight to the Orange kid mohair. I'm thinking a little kick of that on my David Hicks upholstered sofa would be a good addition.

Luke Irwin, how excited I am to take delivery of a rug he is making for a client of mine, all 5 1/2 metres of it. It's going to be a whopper, and I'm excited. You should pop down to Pimlico Road and see these new designs for yourselves.....

CTO Lighting, Client and I both cooed at this lights, she wanted the one on the left (quite Jonathan Adler-esk), and I, the one on the right please.

The name of this company has escaped me, but in the right upholstery, I love the frame of this chair.

Now this is a sofa that caught my eye. I know it to be a very contemporary Ligne Roset sofa that a client of mine purchased, but to upholster it in William Morris, I actually love it. What a smart stand William Morris had, I bet they could sell this 10 times over in Liberty.

I also took some time to meet Tom Kirk a British designer, who made this light, which reminds me of razor clams, this one has a flat white finish, quite tricky to see from my blackberry picture. He's also the designer who supplied the table lamps at Searcy's in the Gherkin.

It's the 2nd of October, and here in London it's hawwwt. Not sunny, warm, but weird I could be in Greece kind of hot, yesterday I think it was 29.5 degrees?! Not that I'm not enjoying it, but I do like Autumn. Cosy dresses, you get to wear in your new winter boots, you know what I mean. Autumn also brings many new ideas/designs/projects/products to the interiors world. Decorex is over, the fairs have been and gone, the parties are over, and now it's time to get on with processing all the things we've seen over the past few weeks. I have been subjected to a ridiculous overload of design this past month. An exciting time for my position at Discover&Deliver it's really coming along, and the potential is enormous. Discovering new hotels, new restaurants, researching the new hip hotel destinations, with or without the help of Wallpaper* magazine guiding me along the way. Since coming back from Stockholm a couple of weeks ago, I'm off to explore Copenhagen in a few weeks, then LA, New York, and then who knows, Mexico has some amazing hotels to see.

Autumn in London, is also bringing with it one ( I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am about this...) very special store, Jonathan Adler. A shiny 2 level den of colour, gloss, print and pottery. His X-Bench (hello above picture) is my most coveted piece. It's going to be my Birthday/Christmas/New Year present to myself all rolled into one. I even want one more than I want my Chanel boots, that still officially aren't mine yet. I've been rather 'hotel' possessed on LWSY recently, so I'm going to broaden my horizons a little more this month, and slowly spoon feed you what I've been saving in my 'keepers' file. Pieces from Decorex, new designers I've been coming across, new prints, new interiors projects, new Remains lights, so many more visual delights coming your way soon....

So here I am, holed up at the Lydmar hotel in Stockholm. I have to say...not too shabby for Lucy. I have been snooping high and low, and all in the name of good design. I even got to sit on Daniel Craig's bed. All part of Discover&Deliver which is launching in just a few weeks (eeeek) I popped over to Scandi land, no not to buy another Dala horse, but to identify what we'd like to sell from the Lydmar on our shiny new website. So, little do they know i've been turning furniture upside down all day, assessing and caressing, deciding what we'd like.

Anyone? Know where this is from? (we do...) Don't worry you can buy it from us in a few weeks.

Not only is this the doorway to Daniel Craig's suite, it's also a photograph of a rather famous chair, here's a hint, Patricia Urquiola designed it....

This was my room, with a gorgeous view of the Palace. The picture above the bed scared me a bit last night though...

I'm doing some New York hotel hunting. A dreadful as it sounds I came across Smyth via a certain MTV Kardashian show. So above is the penthouse, with the Tom Dixon pendant lights and the canary yellow Platner chairs. I've just spent about 2 hours reading every review I could find on Smyth and I really want to go and see it when I go to NYC at the end of the month.

I've been meaning to get over to Margaret Street where you'll find EDC, and Minotti, for weeks. A client has been interested in their Andersen sofa range, which you may not know by name, but it's the sofa in every single Minotti advert, in every single design magazine throughout the world. Infact I think it's the most publicised sofa around. So off I went, in search of the Andersen Slim (at EDC) and the Andersen at the newly refurbished Minotti store.

I came across some other beautiful pieces while I had a snoop. I don't know why, but i've never been drawn to Minotti. Maybe it's because i've always thought it was so much like B&B Italia, so I just never really showed much interest. How wrong I was...

Guilty Wednesday

I say a guilty Wednesday, but I shouldn't feel that it really was. The joy of working for yourself is you can manage your own time. If you want to meet a friend on a Wednesday morning for breakfast, well, why not. It makes up for all the hours of work I do over a weekend. So my day this morning began at 202 Westbourne Grove, Nicole Farhi's shop/restaurant. Sitting outside with my smoked salmon and eggs watching the world go by felt rather indulgent for a Wednesday morning. By 11am my phone was vibrating so much it fell off the table, so a few emails later, I needed to do a quick whip up and down Westbourne Grove, Portobello and Golborne Rd before I had to get moving with some pre-planned errands.

Now we all know Alfies, Columbia Rd, Spitalfields, Portobello even, but Golborne Rd to me is the affordable Pimlico Road, remember I'm a South London girl, so wandering up and down Portobello like you may do, you'll probably find me on Pimlico Rd sourcing on behalf of a client. This is newish territory for me.

The pieces that caught my eye and that I'm showing you, maybe aren't my style, but I can still appreciate the 'cool' factor. Like this chair above, only £700 for the pair. They'd be amazing in the right spot.

I loved this crackle vase, it starts off with a really smooth base and at the top looks and feels like a salted Margarita glass.

My steal of the day. I first spotted these shard lights in Valerie Wade on Fulham Rd (£750 for the pair) and here they are a year later for £280. I had to march myself out of the shop to save me from throwing my visa at the man. I have kitchen tables and chests of drawers to purchase for the new flat before I can start thinking about grown up pairs of table lamps....

A lemon yellow sofa for your Boudoir??

Now this shop, Phoenix, has some great re-worked pieces of furniture, but more importantly it's where, today for 20 minutes, I fell in love with a cockapoo called Molly. I sat with her and didn't let her go. Molly looked like a little fluffy lamb, and I think when I get my dog (he's going to be called Rufus) he may be a cockapoo after today.

This place sells everything that you don't need, amazing.

So that was my morning. Not entirely un-work related, actually it may be quite the find in helping my furnish my new flat.

The rest of the day you could have mistaken me for an angry courier driver on the roads. Darting in and out of traffic all day. I was collecting all our beautiful finds for our first ever Discover Deliver photo shoot tomorrow morning. I went to the silver vault in East London to collect our selected goodies, Waterloo to collect our special glassware, and the depths of SW to collect our cast ware. If only I could have been sent to LA to collect the bedlinen we've selected.

Obsessing over a pink living room....

As an Interior Designer, you spend your life thinking of new ideas and sourcing pieces for your clients. Well now it's my turn. I'm moving home next week, and moving up in the postcode game. As I have said since I was a teen, "...one day, I'm going to live in SW3" (I have it down to a few streets). I'm currently in SW9 and moving to SW6, so effectively I'm half way there?!

So I've spent my entire weekend packing up my studio and home, and finding some amusing things along the way...Broken teapots that I glued together salvaged from shoots I worked on at Elle Deco aged 19 (cannot possibly throw away) to some Versace for Rosenthal espresso cups before they were painted and glazed, (surely a collectors piece on day) a limited edition Tom Dixon gold teapot (yes it's numbered) and my most prized possession, my Alessi stove kettle that I found in a car boot sale for £1.

Aged 21, I went to the Wedgewood factory shop in Stoke on Trent to hand pick my table ware, a mix of Edme and Queens plain, and years on, the best investment. Probably because every plate, mug and bowl was only a few pounds each. More annoyingly why is the butter dish £50 and why can't they mess up a batch so I can buy one in the factory shop?! One day I WILL have an Edme butter dish, but I still can't bring myself to buy one...

We designers, collect and collect, much to the dismay of brothers/friends that you share your home with. Well friends....I'm moving into my own place, studio and home in one, it's going to be a visual feast! Yes yes, I know less is more, but just allow me this...

Problem is....what colour do I paint which room? I may be fast in hurling sample pots to walls in other peoples homes, but this time it's personal... I cannot get the idea of a pink living room out of my head. I have a beautiful Paul Smith 'Aubusson Two' rug that I 'acquired' last year, and I'm thinking to pull some of the neon pink out of the edge of the rug, I could go pink? It would go very well with my David Hicks upholstered chesterfield.... and off I go to Elystan Street to pick up some samples..... I shall let you know how I get on....
